After almost three years of work, the time has come: our animated TV series "Fritzi and Sophie - A Borderless Friendship" celebrates its world premiere at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film. In 8 episodes of 22 minutes each, the series tells the moving story of twelve-year-old Fritzi during the Peaceful Revolution in Leipzig in autumn 1989 and that of her best friend Sophie, who dares to flee the GDR via Hungary with her mother.
Friday 26 April 2024 is all about Fritzi and Sophie. After the school cinema screening in the morning, children can ask the directors questions. At lunchtime, the making of the series gives an insight into the pipeline to production in 3D and shows clips of the motion capture filming. In the afternoon episodes 1-4 can be watched in the cinema followed by a screening of episodes 5-8 open air at the Schlossplatz.
